Smaato Inc (News - Alert)., a global mobile ad optimizer and mobile advertising company, recently published a whitepaper written by Nick Lane, the chief analyst at MobileSquared, on the mobile advertising market in South-East-Asia.

The whitepaper is based on a recent research from MobileSquared. It discloses the information on mobile Internet boom in Asia. According to this whitepaper, in 2010, over 400 million people will be having access to the mobile Internet and the average mobile Internet user across Asia will produce 26.47 page impressions per day. So, it is evident that the users in Asia will be producing over 15 billion page impressions on a daily basis, including Japan and China. For 2010, it is predicted that the total spending in the mobile advertising market will be around $1.5 billion.

The whitepaper also explains the difficulties faced by the brands when trying to enter this multifaceted market. Even though the numbers are impressive, the research identifies only 8 percent of traffic conversion rate into mobile advertising inventory. Also, it says that the South-East Asian region has more than 400 devices in use which mostly feature phones working on 2G networks.
